Denmark head into Tuesday’s showdown on the back of successive draws, meaning they find themselves one point clear of Serbia in the standings.
The Danes started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Slovenia, despite racking up 68% possession and 16 shots against the Group C minnows.
Last time out, Denmark held England to a 1-1 draw in Frankfurt, registering 51% possession and 16 shots against a below-par Three Lions side.
A draw could be enough to send the Danes into the knockout phase, but they will be eager to punch their ticket to the last 16 with a victory.
As for Serbia, they find themselves bottom of Group C after picking up a solitary point from their opening two matches.
Following a 1-0 defeat to England, the Serbs snatched a last-gasp draw against Slovenia last time out, with Luka Jovic equalising in the 95th minute.
It is fair to say that Serbia deserved to get something from their game against Slovenia, as they registered 61% possession and 15 shots throughout the contest.
Despite sitting on a solitary point after two matches, Serbia can still leapfrog Denmark and reach the knockout phase with a win on Tuesday.
Head-to-head: Denmark and Serbia have met three times over the years, with the Danes defeating the Serbs on all three occasions.
Their last meetings came in March 2022, with Denmark securing a 3-0 victory. Consequently, the all-time aggregate scoreline stands at 8-1 in favour of the Danes.
Team news: Denmark are expected to line up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, with Christian Eriksen setting behind Rasmus Hojlund and Jonas Wind in attack.
On the flip side, Serbia will likely continue with a 3-4-2-1 formation, meaning Aleksandar Mitrovic will lead the line ahead of Dusan Vlahovic.
Given that both sides have been involved in close games so far, Tuesday’s clash looks set to be another tense and cagey affair.
