The Allsvenskan action continues this weekend as most of Europe ends their domestic seasons, and Forebet is still here for all the latest trends, data, mathematics and analysis from these football predictions.

IFK Goteborg and IF Elfsborg meet this Saturday afternoon with neither side looking that good after the first handful of games in Sweden.

Elfsborg are sitting down in eighth ahead of this one, as they have now lost six times from their 12 fixtures thus far. Worse yet, they have also played a game extra now too and could therefore move further down the league table very soon.

Last time out, Elfsborg suffered a 2-1 loss to Malmo, despite Arber Zeneli scoring early on for his side.

However, Malmo had 26 shots throughout that match and also had a stunning 73% of the ball.

A 2-0 victory over Halmstad came before this, as Ahmed Qasem and Johan Larsson got a goal each.

This was, however, just the club’s fifth win of the league season, as they have now let in 19 goals and also scored an impressive 21.

As for Goteborg, they are hovering just above the relegation zone right now. This sees them with only three wins on the board and also six losses as well. Worse yet, with only 11 points and a goals difference tally of -7, the club are having one of their worst starts to a season in recent memory.

Goteborg suffered a 5-2 defeat to AIK last time out, as Oscar Wendt and Oscar Pettersson scored a goal each that day.

also suffered a 2-2 draw and 3-0 loss to Malmo in May, alongside a 2-1 defeat away to GAIS. Goteborg did get a win in May, however, as Gustaf Norlin scored late on to grab the winner against Mjallby.

Elfsborg are now ahead of Goteborg by five points, but neither side will be too pleased about their starts to the season. Jimmy Thelin's men are behind the top three European spots by five points as well, and they won't want to move any further away from these spots.

Goteborg's  only other two wins this season have came against Kalmar FF away from home, where Arbnor Mucolli scored. The other victory was against Brommapojkarna, as Thomas Santos, Lars Skjellerup and Malick Yalcouye all scored a goal each.

Forebet now predicts a win for Elfsborg and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
