Liverpool are three points behind Premier League leader Manchester City ahead of Brentford’s arrival on Sunday at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds slipped up with a poor display against Luton Town a week ago, drawing 1-1 thanks to a Luis Diaz goal at the death.

Liverpool followed up the disappointing draw, with a 3-2 loss away to Toulouse in the Europa League on Thursday night.

However, VAR wrongly overturned a Liverpool goal at the death which would have seen the match end 3-3.

Brentford pulled off a famous 3-1 win over Liverpool last season in London. The Bees went unbeaten in two of their last four games against the Reds, although both results came at the GTech Stadium.

Could Brentford pull off their first Premier League win at Anfield on Sunday?

Thomas Frank’s team will start the weekend in ninth place, with 16 points from 11 matches.

Brentford are on a three-game league winning streak and full of confidence. Their three wins came against Burnley, Chelsea, and West Ham by a score of 8-2.

Liverpool are third in the league and could go level on points with Man City with a win and results going their way.

The Anfielders cannot afford to drop points to Brentford, with Man City up next in the Premier League on November 25.

Liverpool went unbeaten in their last four games. Since losing to Spurs in controversial style, the Reds have played well.

However, their draw with Luton was wholly disappointing. Liverpool’s players struggled to break down Luton’s low block.

The Reds are a perfect 15 points from 15 points at home this term, scoring 14 goals and conceding twice.

Brentford took seven points from 15 points on offer away from home. They scored seven goals and conceded four times.

Mohamed Salah is second in goals in the Premier League this season. He has scored eight times this term. However, Salah was practically anonymous against Luton Town.

Klopp will be without several players, including Alexis Mac Allister due to a suspension. Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Andrew Robertson, and Stefan Bacjectic are all ruled out with injuries.

Defender Virgil van Dijk should be fit after sitting out Thursday’s Europa League game with an illness. Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is a major doubt, meaning Wataru Endo could start in midfield.

Frank could be without as many as nine players. Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade, Ivan Toney, Mikkel Damsgaard, and Josh Dasilva are all ruled out of action.

Keane Lewis-Potter, Mark Flekken, and Shandon Baptiste are all major doubts.

Sunday’s clash at Anfield should see goals, with Liverpool winning 3-2 at the final whistle. Salah could get his ninth goal of the campaign.
