Brighton took seven points from the last 18 available. They scored six goals and conceded eight times. Newcastle United took three points from the last 18 available in the Premier League. All three of the Magpies’ points came from draws.
Newcastle United allowed 11 goals in their last six fixtures while scoring a mere six goals. Graeme Jones is the caretaker manager for the team after Steve Bruce’s sacking.
The new Newcastle United owners had hoped for Villarreal’s Unai Emery to join the club as manager. Emery has so far stated he won’t leave Villarreal. In addition, Antonio Conte has joined Tottenham to inflict more disappointment on the Newcastle owners.
Brighton manager Potter could be without up to five players for Saturday’s match. Striker Danny Welbeck and midfielder Steven Alzate are both ruled out of action. Dan Burn and Taylor Ricards are both doubts, but Aaron Connolly is likely to return to the team.
Leandro Trossard is in good form and goes into the match having scored versus Liverpool last weekend. Neal Maupay, who didn’t play versus Liverpool, leads the team in goals with four.
Jones has two players ruled out of the match as Elliott Anderson and Paul Dummett are both ruled out of the game. Back-up goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is a doubt to make the squad.
Last season, Brighton did the double over Newcastle United by identical 3-0 scores. The Seagulls should once again claim a win versus Newcastle United on Saturday without conceding a goal. The teams should combine for under 2.5 goals with the Seagulls winning to nil.
