The 32nd Premier League season closes its curtains this weekend with Manchester City and Arsenal set to battle it out for the Premier League title.

Ahead of the final weekend, here are some of the incredible statistics you may have missed this season.

De Bruyne 2nd All-Time Leading Assists

When Kevin De Bruyne joined the Premier League, he had just matched the record for most assists in a Bundesliga season (20).

He has since gone on to do the exact same in the 2019/20 season in the Premier League to match that one-season record tally.

Now, however, he has racked up a stunning tally of 112 assists and overtaken the legendary two-time Premier League winner, Cesc Fabregas, to move into second in the all-time assists list.

This has seen De Bruyne surpass Fabregas by one assist with one more game to go this league season and within 91 fewer games played, with just 259 on the board.

Ryan Giggs is still ahead of him by 50 assists, and given De Bruyne's ratio of providing assists, he will still need around four seasons to surpass the 13-time Premier League winner.

Nevertheless, given how Giggs played 373 more games than De Bruyne and only has 50 more assists, it only shows why many are considering the Belgian to be the best-ever Premier League player.

Arsenal Set to Beat Their Invincibles Goals Tally

Although practically everyone would argue the 2003/04 unbeaten Arsenal side is better than the 2023/24 one, ultimately, this Gunners side are set to rack up a considerably better goals difference.

Currently, this Arsenal side are on 86, meaning a win over Everton on the final day will bring them to within one point of the Invincibles 90.

However, with 16 more goals scored and just one let in, there is an argument to say this Arsenal team is even better with a current +14 better goals difference tally, which could even get closer to +20 when they meet with Everton.

Sheffield United Could Well be the Worst-Ever Premier League team

Despite racking up more points and more wins than Derby County’s record-breaking feat in 2007/08, Sheffield United have only secured five more points and won two more games.

However, why some fans are calling them the worst-ever Premier League team is because of their stunning defensive record.

With just one more game to go, the Blades have let in 101 goals in 37 games to become the first-ever Premier League team to do so across a 38-game season.
